April 2022 – Introducing Winflo Alley :Shrine to the fly tipping gods,
Secret shrine to the fly tipping gods, with tributes appearing every few days. Old fridges, microwaves, tv’s, broken toys, even a marble fireplace ,they all appear mysteriously at the Alley gates!
At one time, such was the volume of fly tipping that we appeared in Manchester Evening news as one of the top 5 fly tipping streets in Salford. (See link below for the full article.)
We still get some fly tipping but nothing on the scale that we used to.
We actually started with a Jubilee Street party,….
. which led to our little gardening club for the summer of 2022
AND then we had the Kings Coronation 2023, so we did another street party, and more gardening in the alleyway.
2024 came, and the kids now expect an annual street party :), so with a lovely grant from Forever Manchester, we did further work on the alleyway and had another street party .
As of April 2025, we have another street party planned (10th may 2025 VE Day) , and thanks to Forever Manchester, we are making more progress in creating the ‘Urban Oasis’ we imagined, seeds and compost at the ready.
