Jubilee Street Party Jun 22

April 2022 and with street parties planned all over the UK for Queen Elizabeth’s Jubilee, we thought it would be rude not to join in.

Also, lots of funding available, and , again, great opportunity to create some lovely memories for the kids. A group of us quickly formed a constituted group and our registration was accepted by Salford CVS.

Everybody on the street got involved, from Stu risking life and limb to put the bunting up, Olha and family bringing out the BBQ , people from every house helped dragging out tables, chairs, Trey and Josh T ‘supervised’ the T-shirt painting, Memona did some beautiful henna and face paints, Jen round like a headless chicken as always. And everyone helped in the clean up. It was the first time , in a very long time, that anything like this had happened in our area and the kids loved kit. We were greatly helped by a donation of a black bin full of chocolate from an Amazon warehouse clearance.

Huge thanks to Forever Manchester  and Salford City Council for funding the event, and to Cllr Nat Tetteh for his donation.
